Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco, turns 40 today, Monday, August 3, and celebrates the start of a new decade with a new professional challenge: taking the helm of a book collection at the prestigious French publishing house Actes Sud.
Known for her passion for philosophy and literature, Casiraghi has built a reputation as a talented author in her own right, having published La Fêlure, a well-received essay on personal and emotional wounds, through Éditions Julliard on January 29, 2026. She has also been closely involved in shaping Monaco’s Rencontres Philosophiques, the Principality’s philosophy forum.
As she enters this new chapter, Casiraghi takes on the role of director for a new book collection at Actes Sud, the renowned publishing house based in Arles, in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of France.
Titled “Un Pas de Côté” (“A Step Aside”), the collection will give a diverse range of authors creative freedom to explore everyday life through the lens of a familiar expression, offering fresh ways of thinking about ordinary experience, according to trade publication Livres Hebdo.
The collection’s first book, due for release on September 23, 2026, will explore the theme of children’s speech and honesty. Titled “La Vérité Sort de la Bouche des Enfants” (“The Truth Comes Out of Children’s Mouths”), it is written by psychoanalyst and clinical psychologist Laurence Joseph.
A milestone birthday, then, paired with the launch of a new intellectual project, marking what looks to be a defining new decade for Casiraghi both personally and professionally.
