More than 100 classic Fiat 500s filled Port Hercule with colour and nostalgia this weekend as the sixth Monte-Carlo Fiat 500 Meeting brought enthusiasts from across France, Italy and beyond to the Principality…
Organised by the Monte-Carlo Fiat 500 Club, the annual gathering celebrated the enduring appeal of the iconic Italian city car, first introduced in 1957. Despite their compact size, the lovingly restored vehicles drew crowds of admirers, with owners eager to share the stories behind their cherished cars.
Among the most poignant exhibits was a Fiat 500 once owned by the late Jean-René Palacio, the former artistic director of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Its current owner explained that preserving the car in Monaco was a way of honouring both Palacio’s memory and the many journeys the pair had enjoyed through the Principality.
Visitors were treated to a full programme of entertainment, including traditional parades through Monaco, live music and driving simulators, creating a festive atmosphere inspired by the spirit of la dolce vita.
The event also supported a local cause, with Monaco’s Scout movement running the refreshment stand to help fund future activities and projects.
Now firmly established on Monaco’s summer calendar, the gathering continues to demonstrate that, nearly 70 years after its debut, the Fiat 500 remains one of the world’s most beloved classic cars.
