Multiple videos of a Rolls-Royce Cullinan colliding with a rising security bollard in Monaco’s Casino Square have spread rapidly online, together racking up millions of views since surfacing on Sunday, July 19.
The SUV, worth upwards of €400,000, was moving slowly through the square when it struck the metal bollard as it extended from the ground, part of the automated barrier system controlling vehicle access near the Monte-Carlo Casino. The force of the impact dislodged part of the car’s underbody and ruptured a line carrying power steering fluid, leaving a bright red pool spreading across the paving stones.
No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was able to leave the scene despite the damage. The clips have since taken on a life of their own online, with viewers largely treating the moment as a source of amusement rather than concern. Repair costs for the Cullinan are likely to be substantial given the extent of the visible damage.
