Monaco and Germany have reaffirmed their close diplomatic partnership during a bilateral meeting in Berlin marking the 75th anniversary of relations between the two countries…
Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Monaco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, recently met with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul at the Federal Foreign Office to celebrate the milestone and discuss areas of shared interest. The talks highlighted the strength of the longstanding relationship, founded on common values and a shared commitment to international cooperation.
Discussions focused on innovation, climate action, ocean protection and opportunities to deepen economic, scientific and cultural collaboration. Minister Wadephul also congratulated Monaco on its Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and praised the Principality’s support for international accountability mechanisms relating to Ukraine.
Berro-Amadeï was accompanied by Monaco’s Ambassador to Germany, Lorenzo Ravano, together with diplomats Jean-Laurent Imbert and Tatiana El Khoury.
Diplomatic relations between Monaco and Germany were formally established in October 1951 with the creation of a legation, which was elevated to embassy status in 1983. The anniversary provided an opportunity to reaffirm both countries’ commitment to strengthening their partnership and expanding cooperation across a range of strategic fields in the years ahead.
