Monaco has launched Visit Monaco City Walk, a new digital tool designed to help visitors discover the Principality on foot through curated walking routes, an interactive map and integrated mobility services. The initiative is the result of collaboration between the Department of Public Works, the Environment and Urban Development, the Department of Finance and the Economy, and the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition, aimed at offering a smoother, more sustainable and more personalised way to experience Monaco.
The concept behind the platform is straightforward: visitors are encouraged to leave their vehicle on arrival and explore the Principality’s various neighbourhoods, gardens, museums, shops, restaurants, panoramic viewpoints and landmark sites entirely on foot, at their own pace.
The platform offers six walking routes covering different districts of the Principality, from the heights of Le Rocher to the newer perspectives around Mareterra, each highlighting the area’s key sites, green spaces and tourist experiences. Dedicated signage has also been installed throughout the city to help visitors follow the routes easily. The itineraries are designed to be flexible, allowing walkers to complete a route entirely on foot or make use of Monaco’s bus network to move between districts, adapt their journey, or continue exploring elsewhere.
Smart parking management is one of the platform’s key features, encouraging visitors to park once and continue their visit on foot, supporting a calmer and more sustainable way of discovering the Principality. At the heart of the tool is an interactive map that allows users to visualise Monaco’s different neighbourhoods through dedicated icons, with each route offering details on distance, duration, key stops and points of interest along the way, allowing every visitor to build a personalised itinerary.
Visit Monaco City Walk joins a growing suite of digital tools already available to improve mobility and the visitor experience in Monaco, including Monapass, Your Monaco, Monaco Bus, Taxi Monaco, Mobee, Citymapper, Ma Place PMR and StreetNav.
Pascal Rouison, Head of the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition, said the new service reflects Monaco’s commitment to developing useful, simple, user-focused digital services by bringing together, in one platform, all the essential information needed to plan and enjoy a successful visit to the Principality.
