The Minister of State, Christophe Mirmand, accompanied by several members of the Government, presented his New Year wishes to the Monegasque press on Friday morning, outlining the main priorities that will guide public action in 2026…

Addressing journalists and representatives of local media, he highlighted a series of major structural projects aimed at improving daily life in the Principality and strengthening its long-term attractiveness.

Among the key files for the year ahead, the Head of Government pointed to the transformation of the Fontvieille shopping centre, a project intended to modernise a strategic commercial hub, as well as the renovation of the waste sorting and energy recovery facilities, with the dual objective of improving environmental performance and adapting to future needs. He also confirmed plans to reorganise public audiovisual services, in a bid to strengthen the quality, reach and coherence of Monaco’s public broadcasting landscape.

Beyond domestic reforms, Christophe Mirmand underlined the international dimension of 2026 for the Principality. Monaco will assume the presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, a responsibility that places the country at the heart of major discussions on democracy, human rights and the rule of law. The year will also be punctuated by high-profile events, including the Grand Départ of the Vuelta a España in August, which will once again put Monaco in the global sporting spotlight.

The Minister of State concluded by stressing the Government’s commitment to combining ambitious development projects with stability, dialogue and continuity in public service.
