As Monaco enters the busiest nights of the festive period, safety remains firmly at the top of the agenda…

Alongside reinforced police checks, prevention is playing a central role, with Be Safe Monaco once again mobilising to ensure residents and visitors can enjoy celebrations without putting themselves, or others, at risk.

The association, long committed to combating drink-driving, is renewing and strengthening its free shuttle service throughout the school holidays, with additional capacity on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. The initiative offers a simple, practical alternative to getting behind the wheel after a night out, reinforcing a clear message: if you drink, you don’t drive.

This year’s system has been refined to improve efficiency. Two dedicated shuttles operate between midnight and 5 a.m., one covering Monaco and the other serving the surrounding areas. By separating routes, waiting times are reduced and journeys are faster, making the service even more accessible during peak hours.

The impact is already tangible. During a single evening of operation, more than 250 people were safely brought home, each journey representing a potential accident avoided. For Be Safe Monaco, these figures underline the importance of prevention measures that are visible, reliable, and easy to use.

Open to everyone, free of charge and without age restrictions, the shuttle service forms a key pillar of Monaco’s wider festive safety strategy. Combined with awareness campaigns and enhanced public transport options, it helps ensure that end-of-year celebrations remain joyful, responsible, and above all, safe.

Residents are encouraged to save the Be Safe Monaco number, 06 40 62 76 24, and make it part of their night out this festive season.
