The Yacht Club of Monaco marked the end of 2025 with its annual winter cocktail evening, celebrating a year of exceptional sailing achievements and welcoming new members into the club…

His Serene Highness Prince Albert II attended the event, which featured the YCM Awards ceremony—an occasion that highlighted the excellence and continuity of the Principality’s nautical heritage.

Among the evening’s honours, Prince Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies received the prize for the Smeralda 888 class, while Stefano Roberti triumphed in the J70 class. A special YCM Award was presented by world champion and long-time club member Paul Cayard. The prestigious title of Sailor of the Year went to Pierre Casiraghi, in recognition of his recent victory at the Admiral’s Cup alongside Peter Harrison.

Speaking at the event, Casiraghi said he hoped his win would inspire future generations at the sailing school. The celebration also marked the induction of 36 new members, including sailing legend James “Jimmy” Spithill, a two-time America’s Cup winner. With music, camaraderie, and a festive atmosphere, the evening reaffirmed the Yacht Club’s commitment to excellence and the vibrant spirit of sailing in Monaco.
