The ninth edition of UPAINT Monaco wrapped up in vibrant style, with 12 international artists transforming the Larvotto Promenade into a live open-air studio under the theme The Blue Edition: UPAINT The Ocean…
Over four sunny days, the artists created striking street art works inspired by the sea, raising awareness for ocean conservation while painting just steps from the Mediterranean.
The festival was organised in partnership with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, with all net proceeds from the charity auction going toward marine conservation projects. The initiative was also timed to coincide with the recent United Nations Ocean Conference held in Monaco.

The artists—Amaury Dubois, Cez Art, Jay Kaes, Jordan Harang, Julien Sonne, Mr. OneTeas, Temponok, Theo Lopez, Tiffany Anna, Veks Van Hillik, and Zepha—brought a diversity of styles and messages to the theme. From colourful depictions of endangered marine life to more conceptual pieces drawing attention to industrial threats, the works reflected both the fragility and wonder of ocean ecosystems.
Many of the artists described the seafront setting as both inspirational and humbling. Between brushstrokes and spray paint sessions, they connected with curious passersby, exchanged ideas with fellow creatives, and soaked in Monaco’s unique atmosphere.
The artworks were auctioned by the Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo, with international shipping available for winning bidders. As the auction closed on Sunday evening, it marked not just the end of a successful festival, but a powerful reminder of how art can ignite conversation, connection, and action for the planet.
With another memorable edition behind them, organisers say they’re ready to take UPAINT global. Interested cities are encouraged to get in touch—because the message of protecting our oceans knows no borders.
