Rail passengers travelling between Monaco and the Côte d’Azur are being warned of major disruption this weekend as SNCF Réseau carries out extensive maintenance and modernisation work…
Three large-scale operations are planned across the region on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, affecting services in Nice, between Cannes and Grasse, and in Marseille.
The most significant disruption for Monaco passengers will come on Saturday, when rail traffic will be completely suspended between Antibes and Monaco. Nice-Ville station will also be closed to trains for 24 hours whilst work is carried out on railway infrastructure.
The disruption is expected to affect both local and longer-distance journeys along one of the Riviera’s busiest transport corridors, with passengers advised to plan ahead and consider alternative ways of travelling.
Further work will continue on Sunday, when rail services between Cannes and Grasse will be affected as another stage of the modernisation programme gets under way.
SNCF Réseau says the weekend operations form part of its ongoing programme to maintain and upgrade railway infrastructure across the region. Passengers are advised to check their journey before travelling.
