Ukrainian military intelligence has categorically rejected allegations that it was involved in the attempted assassination of businessman Vadim Ermolaev in Monaco on June 29…

Andriy Yusov, a representative of Ukraine’s General Intelligence Directorate (GUR), said the service was cooperating fully with law enforcement and remained committed to establishing the truth. He described allegations against the organisation as “absolutely not constructive”, arguing that they risked placing additional pressure on the investigation.

As reported by Monaco-Matin, the response follows accusations from Ermolaev that individuals connected to the GUR may have been involved in the explosive attack outside his Monaco home. The businessman had also voiced fears that the affair could be suppressed or resolved away from public scrutiny.

Yusov rejected those claims, insisting that the GUR “acts exclusively within the framework of the powers conferred upon it by law”. He described theories surrounding the attack as harmful to both the investigation and Ukraine’s national interests, while appealing for Ukrainians with relevant information to come forward.

Anastasiia Berezovska, identified as the woman who planted the explosive device, was subsequently found shot dead. Two men, including a GUR agent and a former Ukrainian Security Service member, have reportedly been detained over her killing.

Investigations remain active in both Monaco and Ukraine.
