The Prince Albert II Leisure Centre is enjoying another busy summer, with hundreds of children taking part in a programme combining sport, culture, creativity and outdoor adventures…
July was the busiest month, with 650 families represented, although the centre can accommodate a maximum of 300 children each day. August is looking slightly quieter, with around 550 families registered.
This summer’s high temperatures have required some flexibility with regards to the use of space. Activities are moved into air-conditioned spaces during the hottest periods, whilst cooler conditions provide opportunities to make use of the centre’s extensive grounds, pine forest and sports facilities.
Partnerships with Monegasque associations and federations have allowed children to try badminton, judo, handball, rugby and climbing. Cultural outings include museums, the Grimaldi Forum and the media library, whilst swimming sessions are available at the Stade Nautique Rainier III.
This summer’s theme focuses on comics and animation, with additional adventures including a treetop course and visits to a goat farm. Cooking, science, nature and creative workshops complete a varied schedule for children aged three to 12.
The centre operates throughout the year, helping create a strong sense of community amongst children and activity leaders.
For those interested, bookings for the All Saints’ Day holiday will open in September. Visit the official Centre de Loisirs Prince Albert II website centredeloisirs.gouv.mc for further details.
