The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation took part in a special training session on Wednesday, August 5, bringing together professional athletes and young members of the Monaco Athletics Club ahead of the very first Gravity Challenge, held in the Principality the same day.
Founded by Foundation Ambassador and Olympic high jump champion Mutaz Barshim, and organised in partnership with the Monaco Athletics Federation, the event gave local children the chance to try their hand at the high jump directly alongside some of the world’s best athletes in the discipline. Under the guidance of the professionals present, participants were encouraged to challenge themselves, pick up new techniques, and experience the sport in a supportive, inspiring environment.
Foundation Ambassadors Antoine Zeghdar and Kevin Crovetto joined the session to share the experience with the children, alongside the Foundation’s General Secretary, Galia Wittstock.
Marked by encouragement and enthusiasm throughout, the session reflected the core of the Foundation’s mission: harnessing the power of sport to educate, inspire and empower young people. For the Foundation, sport represents far more than competition alone, serving instead as a meaningful tool for building confidence, respect, teamwork and resilience among the next generation.
The Foundation extended its thanks to all the athletes and partners who helped make the session possible.
