Fresh from helping the Roca Team capture the 2026 French championship, French international Matthew Strazel has completed a move to Turkish giants Anadolu Efes, bringing an end to his four-year spell in the Principality.

Efes confirmed the signing this week, announcing that the 22-year-old guard has agreed to a two-year contract, with the club holding an option to extend the deal for a further season.

Strazel is expected to strengthen Efes’ backcourt following the anticipated departure of long-time playmaker Shane Larkin, who is widely expected to continue his career with Turkish rivals Fenerbahçe.

Having arrived in Monaco in 2022, Strazel steadily established himself as one of the club’s most influential players. His development culminated during the 2025-26 campaign, where he played a central role in Monaco’s domestic title-winning season while continuing to impress on the EuroLeague stage.

Known for his composure under pressure, defensive intensity and ability to both score and create opportunities for teammates, the French guard became a key figure in the Roca Team’s success over recent seasons.

His move marks another significant change for Monaco as the club begins reshaping its squad ahead of next season, while Anadolu Efes secures one of Europe’s rising young guards as it looks to remain among the continent’s leading teams.
