The Prince’s Carabiniers have taken charity work to new heights, quite literally, after completing a demanding cycling expedition through the Pyrenees and returning to Monaco with €15,000 in support of Fight Aids Monaco.
In June, a team of riders from the prestigious military unit spent four days tackling a string of famous mountain passes more commonly associated with the Tour de France. Long climbs, thin air, aching legs — the works. But the goal was never a podium finish; it was solidarity with Princess Stéphanie and the humanitarian cause she has championed for two decades.
The cyclists rode in full kit donated by equipment manufacturer EKOÏ, whose founder Jean-Christophe Ratel provided everything required for the challenge, all proudly branded with the Fight Aids Monaco colours. The symbolic ascent became a fundraising mission, strengthened further by the support of Bertrand Letartre, owner of Monaco’s Quai des Artistes, whose contribution helped push the total to €15,000.
The donation has now been formally handed to Fight Aids Monaco, marking another chapter in the longstanding bond between the Carabiniers and the Princess’s association.
