The blockbuster summer exhibition “Colours! Masterpieces from the Centre Georges Pompidou” is entering its final stretch in Monaco, with just days left before it closes on Sunday, August 31. Already drawing 57,000 visitors since its July opening—an average of 1,200 per day—the show is on track to become one of the Grimaldi Forum’s most attended exhibitions, joining past hits like Monet, Dali and The Gold of the Pharaohs.

Curated by Didier Ottinger, deputy director of the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, “Colours!” offers a visually striking and sensorial journey through more than 100 works by giants such as Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, Delaunay, Chagall, Warhol and Richter. Presented in a bold circular layout, the exhibition explores the meaning, perception and symbolism of seven key colours; white, black, green, yellow, blue, red and pink, across cultures and centuries. Each zone pairs major artworks with soundscapes, scents and curated objects, turning the space into an immersive chromatic laboratory.

Beyond the paintings, the exhibition has been praised for its ambitious scenography and educational depth, with Ottinger referencing Newton and Goethe’s historic colour wheels as touchstones. Visitors can dive deeper through public guided tours every Thursday and Sunday, private group visits, or exclusive after-hours experiences that include a dedicated guide and a private cocktail for eight guests (€1,800).

The show is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, with late-night Thursdays until 22:00. Tickets are priced at €14 (free for under-18s, reduced access for people with disabilities), and the venue advises a light jacket due to the cool, artwork-friendly climate.

As the countdown ticks toward its finale, demand is spiking for one last chance to experience this chromatic celebration before it gives way to the Grimaldi Forum’s next major events, including Monaco and the Napoleons later this month, Monaco and the Automobile in 2026, and a long-awaited Magritte retrospective in 2027.
