AS Monaco have completed the signing of Finnish international goalkeeper Lukas Hradecký from Bayer Leverkusen on a two-year deal running until June 30, 2027, with the option for an additional season.
The 34-year-old arrives in the Principality as one of the most decorated goalkeepers in recent Bundesliga history. A central figure in Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten domestic double-winning campaign in 2023–24, Hradecký also helped secure the German Super Cup in 2024. Nicknamed “The Spider”, he was named Bundesliga Goalkeeper of the Year for 2023–24 and has been voted his club’s player of the season on four occasions.
Over a decade in Germany, the former Eintracht Frankfurt and Leverkusen captain set records for a foreign goalkeeper with 323 league appearances and 92 clean sheets. His European pedigree includes 55 matches in the Champions League and Europa League.
On the international stage, Hradecký has earned 101 caps for Finland, wearing the captain’s armband since 2021. Born in Bratislava and raised in Finland, his career began at TPS Turku before spells with Esbjerg and Brøndby in Denmark, followed by his move to Germany in 2015, where he lifted the German Cup with Frankfurt in 2018.
The move marks the start of a new chapter for Hradecký as he prepares to test himself in Ligue 1 with Monaco.
