Christophe Mirmand was officially sworn in as Monaco’s new Minister of State on Monday morning, the 21st July, during a formal ceremony in the Cour d’Honneur of the Prince’s Palace…
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II presided over the occasion, accompanied by Princess Charlène, as the French civil servant formally took up his duties as the Principality’s highest-ranking government official.
Mirmand, who previously served as Chief of Staff to former French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, brings decades of administrative experience to the role. His new roadmap includes a strong focus on internal security, a theme he underscored during his first visits to Monaco’s Police Department and the Fire Brigade.
Addressing the fire service, Mirmand praised their dedication: “Your professionalism is unanimously praised. I am particularly aware of the operational obligations you face with rigor and determination. The government remains committed to supporting you in all future developments.”
Later, at the Direction de la Sûreté Publique (DSP), Monaco’s public security authority, the new Minister reiterated the critical role of safety in Monegasque life: “Security is a common good, the very foundation of our life together and of Monaco’s appeal. Thanks to your efforts, Monaco remains a model in terms of safety and quality of life.”
The swearing-in marked not only a new chapter for Christophe Mirmand, but also a reaffirmation of Monaco’s commitment to public service, order, and security as cornerstones of its governance.
