A delegation from Japan’s Marina & Beach Association arrived in Monaco on Tuesday, March 4, following successful initial talks sparked by Monaco’s Ambassador to Japan, H.E. Didier Gamerdinger. The visit signals a potential new collaboration between the Principality and a key Japanese organisation focused on port and beach management.

The Japan Marina & Beach Association, tied to Japan’s Ministry of Transport, has been uniting 90 coastal facilities and resorts for over 50 years. During their trip, the group’s leaders expressed a clear goal: to team up with the Monaco Yacht Club. They aim to swap expertise and explore joint projects down the road.

The delegation’s packed itinerary included stops at the Monaco Yacht Club and the Société d’Exploitation des Ports de Monaco, plus a tour of the ambitious Mareterra development. Meetings with local officials and site visits laid the groundwork for what could become a lasting exchange.

Both sides agreed to keep the conversation going, hinting at more developments to come as Monaco and Japan look to bridge their coastal know-how.
