In a unique blend of creativity and technology, young minds in Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes are being called upon to design the next-generation lunar vehicle. The organisers of Top Marques Monaco, the world-renowned supercar show, have launched an art competition challenging children to envision a space vehicle capable of navigating the harsh environment of the Moon.

The competition is part of a series of special events celebrating the 20th anniversary of Top Marques, which will take place from 7 to 11 May 2025 at the Grimaldi Forum. Over four days, the prestigious exhibition will showcase an array of luxury supercars, rare classic vehicles, exclusive watches, and bespoke jewellery. This year’s edition promises not only high-octane displays but also a journey through the show’s illustrious history, with a retrospective exhibition and the annual Carspotters Award.

Inspired by Venturi Space’s FLEX lunar rover, set to land on the Moon in 2026, the art contest invites schoolchildren and young residents to dream up their own futuristic Moon vehicle. The challenge goes beyond aesthetics—entrants must consider the practical difficulties of space exploration, from navigating rugged lunar terrain to operating without traditional fuel sources. With no smooth Monaco boulevards in sight and no petrol stations beyond Earth, the competition encourages creative and forward-thinking designs.

“We are looking to the next generation for inspiration,” said the organisers. “As technology continues to push boundaries, it’s important to involve young minds in shaping the vehicles of tomorrow. We are confident their designs will be as bold as they are imaginative.”

Entries will be divided into two age categories: one for primary school children (CE2 to CM2) and another for secondary students (6ème to 3ème). The winner will not only receive recognition for their visionary work but will also be invited to an exclusive visit to the Venturi Space showroom, where they will see cutting-edge space technology up close.

Submissions are open until 18 April 2025, and aspiring space designers can find more details on how to participate by visiting www.topmarquesmonaco.com.
