A Monegasque delegation, led by interim Minister of State Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, is currently in Auschwitz to attend the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration and extermination camp, a tragic symbol of the Holocaust…

The 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz is a solemn occasion to remember the millions of lives lost and to honour the survivors. By attending this event, the Monegasque delegation is underlining the Principality’s role in preserving the collective memory and promoting universal values.

On this occasion, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï expressed on her social networks : ‘Honoured to represent Monaco, to perpetuate the duty to remember and not forget’.

The Princely Government is thus reaffirming its commitment to preserving the memory of this tragedy and fighting against oblivion, by recalling the importance of the intergenerational transmission of history.

A Representative Delegation

The diversity of the members of the delegation reflects the Principality’s commitment to honouring the victims of the Holocaust and conveying the message of vigilance against all forms of discrimination and hatred. Alongside the interim Minister of State are Lorenzo Ravano, Monaco’s Ambassador to Poland, Jean-Laurent Imbert, First Secretary, Tomasz Wardynski, Honorary Consul of Monaco in Warsaw, Jacques Wolzok, President of the Commission for Assistance to Victims of Spoliation, and Aaron Frenkel, President of the Jewish Cultural Center of Monaco,

The participation of students such as Laura Vaselli and Johar Benbrikhou underlines the importance of raising awareness of these tragic events among the younger generations in order to build a future based on respect, tolerance and peace.
