In the presence of HSH Prince Albert II, Benoîte Rousseau de Sevelinges, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG), delivered her annual address on Tuesday, January 14, recognising the achievements of the past year and outlining future goals. She was joined by Christophe Robino, Government Advisor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health, and Thomas Brezzo, President of the National Council.
Rousseau de Sevelinges highlighted several milestones that marked 2024 as a year of progress for CHPG. Patient satisfaction rose to 84 percent, bolstered by initiatives like the “Mystery Patient” program aimed at enhancing the care experience. Hospital activity increased by five percent, welcoming 23,000 new patients, while advancements in technology included breakthroughs in imaging, radiotherapy, and 472 robotic surgeries. Efforts in sustainability also paid off, with 15 tonnes of CO2 saved by eliminating single-use food containers.
Looking ahead, she emphasised the transformative potential of the hospital’s upcoming new building, set to modernise practices and further elevate care standards. She closed her remarks with warm wishes for 2025, calling for continued innovation, collaboration, and solidarity among staff.
Government Advisor Christophe Robino outlined the challenges awaiting CHPG in 2025, including reforms to the status of hospital practitioners and service personnel. He underscored the need for enhanced cooperation among healthcare facilities in Monaco to improve efficiency and care delivery. Robino also expressed gratitude to hospital teams for their dedication, stating, “Our establishment must not only be a place of care but also a model of kindness toward patients and staff alike.”
Addressing another priority, Robino urged CHPG management to collaborate with practitioners to reduce waiting times, particularly for Monegasque residents. “I hope suitable solutions will be swiftly identified and implemented to tackle this challenge,” he added.
The year 2025, Robino concluded, will be a pivotal one for CHPG as it marks the start of the transition toward the opening of the first phase of the hospital’s new state-of-the-art facility.
