The UNESCO Headquarters in Paris hosted an extraordinary concert titled ‘a Mediterranean Symphony’, organised by the Permanent Representations of Monaco, Greece, Egypt, and Morocco. The event, a celebration of cultural unity, featured renowned composer Evanthia Reboutsika and drew a large audience to UNESCO’s grand hall.

Greek-born actor Georges Corraface presented the evening, which showcased Reboutsika’s evocative compositions inspired by the shared heritage of Mediterranean cultures. The performance highlighted the interconnectedness of the region, weaving musical narratives from the Balkans to Africa, Suez to Gibraltar.

The concert featured two vocalists, one Greek and one Moroccan, whose harmonious collaboration transcended language and cultural boundaries. Through their melodies, the event delivered a powerful message of peace and unity, underscoring music’s role as a universal language and a bridge between nations.

Held shortly after the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza, the concert resonated as a poignant call for peaceful coexistence. The collaboration among the four Mediterranean countries exemplified cultural diplomacy, using the arts to celebrate diversity while promoting harmony across borders.
