On Monday 20 January 2025, the Monaco Economic Board presented the  opportunities offered by the Japanese market as part of their economic  mission organised in collaboration with H.E. Mr Didier Gamerdinger,  Monaco’s Ambassador to Japan and India...

‘I often hear investors say that they would very much like to go to Japan one  day. Well, that day is now’, said H.E. Didier Gamerdinger.

The world’s fourth-largest economy, Japan stands out for its exemplary stability,  solid growth and ability to reconcile modernity and tradition.

Nicolas Bonnardel, Director of the France Japan Chamber of Commerce and  Industry (CCI France Japon), shared his analysis of Japan’s strengths as a  preferred investment destination.

In his view, Japan represents an ‘island of peace’ in economic and geopolitical  terms. He went on to explain that ‘Japan offers a culture of excellence, where  attention to detail and the constant pursuit of quality are deeply rooted’. These  values, coupled with strong local demand and opportunities in a variety of sectors  (technology, luxury, health, sustainable development), make the country fertile  ground for Monegasque companies looking to expand their business.

The Osaka World Expo : a gateway to new business partnerships

The MEB economic mission, which will take place from 26 June to 3 July  2025, coincides with Monaco Day on 28 June 2025, when a delegation of official  figures will attend the Osaka World Expo.

‘This event is a unique platform for strengthening business relations and promoting  Monegasque innovation,’ explains H.E. Mrs Mireille Martini, Delegate President of  Pavillon Monaco. The Monegasque pavilion, designed around the theme Take care  of wonder, will highlight the Principality’s commitment to innovation, sustainable  development and the preservation of natural wonders.

At the same time, the Economic Mission will give Monegasque companies the  opportunity to talk to new business partners, thanks to a tailor-made programme  devised by Nicolas Bonnardel and the CCI France Japon.

The Universal Exhibition is a world-renowned event for promoting cooperation  between companies and institutions. For Monaco, it is a unique opportunity to  raise its profile on the Asian market and attract investment while sharing its know how with the world.

This economic mission promises to be a strategic turning point for Monegasque  companies wishing to set up or strengthen their presence in the Japanese market.
