The Cour d’Honneur of the Prince’s Palace transformed into a magical winter wonderland on Wednesday as nearly 700 Monegasque children gathered for the annual Christmas gift-giving ceremony hosted by the Princely family…
This annual tradition, just days before Christmas, saw Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, Hereditary Prince Jacques, Princess Gabriella, Princess Stéphanie, and Camille Gottlieb personally distributing gifts to the delighted young attendees.
The Palace, adorned with illuminated fir trees and festive decorations, was far from the formal setting of National Day celebrations held just weeks ago. Instead, it radiated holiday warmth as a quartet of magicians and dancing artists entertained families, adding a whimsical touch to the special afternoon.
Inside, the Cour d’Honneur resembled a toy store, brimming with carefully selected gifts tailored to the children’s ages and interests. From magician kits and Playmobil sets to remote-controlled cars, stuffed animals, Frozen costumes, and ninja outfits, the princely family ensured that each child received a thoughtful present. While most were thrilled, a few tears fell when expectations didn’t quite match reality. However, the excitement of the day served as a prelude to the children’s anticipation of Santa’s visit on Christmas Eve.
This event highlights the princely family’s enduring commitment to fostering joy and community spirit during the festive season. For Monaco’s youngest residents, it is not only a time to celebrate but also an opportunity to feel the warmth and care of their Sovereign and his family.
