As part of Monaco’s cherished National Day celebrations, the presentation of Medals of Honor served as a significant and heartfelt tradition, recognising the dedication and achievements of notable individuals across the Principality.
The medal ceremonies are an integral element of the festivities, reflecting Monaco’s respect for its public servants and contributors to its cultural and social fabric.
On Wednesday, November 16, 2024, Minister of State Didier Guillaume, presided over the awarding of the Medals of Honor for the Civil Service and the CHPG Medals of Honor at the iconic Oceanographic Museum. These ceremonies celebrated individuals who have devoted their careers to public service, honoring their unwavering commitment to Monaco’s progress and well-being.
Key to the National Day festivities, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco presented the Medals of the Princely Orders in the Cour d’Honneur of the Prince’s Palace. Additionally, earlier that same day, Their Serene Highnesses awarded the Medals of Honour to volunteers from the National Blood Merit and the Red Cross, also in the Cour d’Honneur, recognizing their invaluable humanitarian contributions
Another highlight of the national celebrations took place the following day, November 17, 2024, when HSH Prince Albert II presented the Physical Education and Sports Medals at the Stade Louis II. The ceremony honoured athletes, coaches, and sports officials whose dedication has elevated Monaco’s sporting excellence both locally and internationally. Prince Albert II’s personal involvement underscored the importance of sports in promoting unity, health, and national pride.
As part of the festivities, Princess Stéphanie distributed traditional parcels to Monaco’s senior citizens on the afternoon of Monday, November 18, at the Foyer Rainier III, underscoring the Principality’s values of compassion and community.
These medal presentations will be part of the wider National Day celebrations, a two-day extravaganza brimming with rich traditions and modern festivities. Alongside these honours, the Principality will come alive with a military parade, a commemorative mass at the Cathedral, and dazzling cultural events, including concerts and a drone light show.
Through these recognitions, Monaco’s National Day not only celebrates its heritage but also pays tribute to the individuals who continue to shape its vibrant community.
