S.E. Mme Anne Eastwood officially presented her credentials to the President of Croatia, S.E. Mr. Zoran Milanovic, at a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Zagreb on Tuesday, October 29, marking her as Monaco’s third ambassador to Croatia since diplomatic relations were established in 2007. Accompanied by Monaco’s Honorary Consul in Zagreb, Mr. Zoran Bohacek, Ambassador Eastwood engaged in a cordial discussion with President Milanovic following the ceremony.

The conversation highlighted shared priorities in tourism, economic growth, and cultural and sports initiatives, with both nations underscoring their commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. Croatia’s recent recognition as 8th globally on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index—measuring progress toward the UN’s 2030 Agenda—served as a point of mutual pride. Given Croatia’s rich biodiversity and expansive coastline, both representatives explored successful environmental practices and joint initiatives aimed at preserving marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean.

This meeting reaffirmed Monaco and Croatia’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation on environmental sustainability, aligning their efforts to meet shared goals in an area marked by both significant challenges and opportunities.
