On Friday, October 25, Monaco’s Government Counsellor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Isabelle Berro-Amadei, welcomed three newly accredited ambassadors to the Principality at a luncheon held at the Hotel Hermitage…
The ambassadors—Her Excellency Ana Hrustanovic of Serbia, His Excellency Sudhir Bhattarai of Nepal, and His Excellency Isaïe Kubwayo of Burundi—were formally presented to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, presenting their credentials earlier that day.
Representing Serbia, Ambassador Hrustanovic brings a unique blend of private and public sector experience to her role. With a background in journalism, she began her government career in the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and Montenegro in 2004, where she coordinated public relations for the Minister’s Cabinet. Subsequently, she served as the First Counsellor at the Serbian Embassy in Rome and from 2016 to 2023 held the post of Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels. In 2024, she was appointed Serbian Ambassador to France, with concurrent accreditation to Monaco.
From Nepal, Ambassador Bhattarai is a seasoned diplomat with a strong academic background in physics. He joined the Foreign Affairs service in 1995, taking on diverse roles, including First Secretary at Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and as Counsellor at the Nepalese Embassy in Saudi Arabia. From 2017 to 2021, he served in Belgium and the EU, before assuming his role as Nepal’s Ambassador to France, Andorra, and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO.
Ambassador Kubwayo of Burundi began his career in academia as a teacher before transitioning to administrative roles at the University of Burundi, including advisor and Chief of Staff to the Vice-Rector. He served as a consultant to the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva and later held positions within Burundi’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2006, he was appointed as First Counsellor to the Burundian Embassy in Paris and has since served as Ambassador to Morocco, now taking on ambassadorial duties for France, Portugal, Spain, and Monaco.
With these new accreditations, Monaco continues to foster robust international relations, expanding its diplomatic reach and collaborative ties with each of these countries.
