When some of the world’s leading high-end watch and luxury car brands come together to sponsor an awards ceremony, the stakes are high.
Sponsored by prestigious names like Richard Mille, Feadship, Mercedes-Maybach, Agusta, and Fred, the second annual edition of The Honours took place on the eve of the Monaco Yacht Show 2024.
The event celebrated three exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions within and beyond the superyacht community. This year’s coveted Bowsprit Award went to Frédéric Jousset, art philanthropist and creator of the first boat museum; Nick Entwisle, founder of Yachting Gives Back; and explorer Mike Horn, leader of the Pangaea X project.
Organized by the Superyacht Life Foundation and the Monaco Yacht Show, The Honours shines a spotlight on individuals whose leadership brings positive change. From nearly 300 nominations, these honourees were chosen for their transformative influence in the realms of art, philanthropy, and environmentalism.
Frédéric Jousset’s ArtExplorer catamaran, a floating museum, has brought free art experiences to tens of thousands across the Mediterranean. Nick Entwisle’s Yachting Gives Back has mobilized the superyacht community to combat hunger and poverty in Mallorca. Meanwhile, Mike Horn’s Pangaea X initiative inspires young explorers to take action against global environmental challenges.
The celebration, held at Monaco’s Salle des Étoiles, featured documentaries and discussions with the honorees. Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show, praised their efforts: “The passion and commitment of our honorees shine a light on the innovation and philanthropy that define our industry.”
The Honours was a night of inspiration and dialogue, encouraging meaningful conversations on sustainability, leadership, and the future of the yachting world.
