This Thursday, SNCF is conducting an exceptional “test day” on its TER lines as part of a broader plan to increase train frequency between Nice and Ventimiglia starting December 15, 2024.

The test will affect several key routes, including Les Arcs Draguignan – Saint-Raphaël-Valescure – Cannes – Antibes – Nice, and Grasse – Cannes – Nice – Ventimiglia. Commuters should be aware that TER schedules will be adjusted for this one day to simulate the upcoming changes.

The primary goal of this initiative is to prepare for a significant boost in train traffic on the Nice-Ventimiglia line. As part of the Southern Region’s long-standing efforts, the plan is to have TER trains running every 15 minutes throughout the day along this crucial route between the Côte d’Azur and Italy.

For instance, on the Nice-Ville to Monaco route, a new train at 09:05 will be added between the existing services at 08:51 and 09:19, providing more options for passengers.

Commuters are encouraged to check the SNCF TER Sud website for detailed schedules and updates related to this test day. If successful, the new timetable will be implemented permanently starting December 15.
