CFM Indosuez Wealth Management, in partnership with Crédit Agricole CIB, has made a donation of over 51,000 euros to the Flavien Foundation and the Monaco Scientific Center. The funds will support the “Stem Cells and Brain Tumours” research team, led by Dr. Vincent Picco, at the Monaco Scientific Center.
This donation was made possible through an innovative solidarity finance initiative, which attracted enthusiastic support from clients committed to responsible and health-focused investments. The collaboration between CFM Indosuez and Crédit Agricole CIB, a leader in the green and sustainable bond market, underscores their shared dedication to health causes.
“CFM Indosuez, the Flavien Foundation, and the Monaco Scientific Center are united in their mission to support vulnerable children,” said Mathieu Ferragut, CEO of CFM Indosuez. This latest contribution complements the Indosuez Group’s ongoing commitment to the Brain Institute in France.
The funds will empower Dr. Picco’s team to pursue groundbreaking research into the origins of pediatric brain cancers, focusing on the unique characteristics of these cancers, which resemble embryonic cells. Due to the complexity and ethical concerns of using traditional vertebrate models like mice, the Monaco team has partnered with Dr. Eric Röttinger’s team from the Cancer and Aging Research Institute in Nice. They are studying the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis, a marine invertebrate with genetics comparable to humans.
This innovative approach will enable the research teams to explore the development of tumours linked to gene deregulation in the early stages of nervous system development. The ultimate goal is to develop more targeted and less toxic therapies for pediatric cancers.
