From Monday, September 2 to Sunday, September 15, 2024, the Espace Léo Ferré in Monaco will host a special photo exhibition dedicated to the iconic Monegasque singer Léo Ferré (1916-1993). Organized by the Mairie de Monaco, the exhibition celebrates the deep artistic connection between Ferré and renowned Belgian photographer Hubert Grooteclaes (1927-1994).

Titled “Dernière exposition photo de Léo Ferré à l’Espace Léo Ferré – Vu à travers l’objectif d’Hubert Grooteclaes,” the exhibition features a collection of evocative photographs that document the decades-long friendship and collaboration between the two artists. Grooteclaes, known for his striking portraits, once shared that knowing Ferré was more significant to him than photography itself—a sentiment echoed by Ferré, who praised Grooteclaes as “the man before the click, the flight before the bird.”

This exhibition will be the final event at the current location of Espace Léo Ferré before it moves to its new home at Îlot Pasteur. Visitors can enjoy this homage to Ferré’s legacy daily from 11:30 to 19:00, with free admission. The exhibition opens at 14:00 on Monday, September 2.
