Monaco and the Tour de France – Exhibition
1×1.5 metre photographs on the fences, looking back at the history of the Tour de France in Monaco. The images are taken from the archives of both Presse Sports, owned by the Tour’s organiser Amaury Sport Organisation, and those of the Monaco Government Communications Department). The exhibition explores the close ties that have bound the Principality to the world’s greatest cycling race for 85 years, with the country having hosted the Tour on eleven occasions since 1952, and enjoyed “ville-étape” status six times. Until Saturday, August 31 at Jardins Saint-Martin & Sainte Barbe (between the Oceanographic Museum and Monaco Cathedral).
Clara Ysé – Music
Clara Ysé has taken inspiration from Virgil’s Aeneid for the title of her album “et ruit oceano nox”, “and the night rushes from the ocean,” a phrase previously borrowed by Victor Hugo in a poem dedicated to sailors lost at sea. Fiery horses, fairytale syncopation. It’s said that the poem began life as a song. Like every myth, this one’s origins have become lost in the mists of time. This concert is part of the Fort Antoine Theatre – 2024 Season, on Tuesday, July 24 at 21:30 at Fort Antoine.

Baptiste Trotignon Trio – BREXIT MUSIC
Baptiste Trotignon, a top international jazz pianist who has previously collaborated with Melody Gardot, Tom Harrell, Michel Portal, and Avishai Cohen, a composer of classical music for the likes of Nicholas Angelich, Natalie Dessay, and Henri Demarquette who has accompanied famous French singers including Arthur Teboul, Miossec, and Jeanne Added, is back with Brexit Music, an album devoted to British pop music by artists such as the Beatles, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Queen, David Bowie, and others. Fireworks – Evenings Quai Albert I er
Every weekend will be animated on the Albert I er to the delight of young and old alike. The top start will be given by the fireworks on Saturday, July 27 at 22:00. The drone show will take place on Friday, August 9 at 22:00. Two theme evenings will be on Saturday, August 3 (DJ evening) and August 17 (90th and 1990s). Trevor Noah – Stand-Up – Monte-Carlo Summer Festival 2024
South African comedian Trevor Noah returns to France as part of his Off The Record Tour. The former host of The Daily Show, one of America’s leading comedy shows, Noah is now devoting his time to stand-up comedy and touring internationally. After seven years as host of The Daily Show, the 39-year-old comedian with his unique style has become one of the leading voices in the comedy world. Summer at Port Hercule – Events
Quai Albert Ier will be hosting a carousel, go-karting, basketball court, hook-a-duck, trampoline, NINJA course, and activities organised by AS MONACO KIDS TOUR including a mini-soccer pitch, giant targets, and sales of AS Monaco FC branded merchandise. The market stalls and gourmet food stands, with official “Grimaldi of Monaco Historic Site” certification, will be open from 16:30 to 22:00. TURNER, the Sublime Legacy Exhibition
The Grimaldi Forum Monaco, in collaboration with Tate, will unveil the exhibition-event Turner, the Sublime Legacy. This exhibition, featuring an ensemble of first-rate works in a new scenography of over 2,000 square meters, is an invitation to a journey through Joseph Mallord William Turner’s representations of the world in a sublime mode, from his landscapes to the elementary explorations of light and atmosphere of which he was a pioneer and master. Turner’s decisive influence on painting, and by extension his legacy, will be highlighted in the exhibition through some interpretations of the sublime by leading contemporary artists such as, among others, Richard Long, Olafur Eliasson, Cornelia Parker, Jessica Warboys, John Akomfrah, Katie Paterson, and Mark Rothko. The exhibition is curated by Elizabeth Brooke, Senior Project Curator at Tate. This exhibition is organized in collaboration with Tate, with the support of CMB Monaco, SOTHEBY’S and MARZOCCO GROUP. Turner, the Sublime Legacy – Activities for Children
As every summer, the Grimaldi Forum is hosting two weeks of activities dedicated to younger visitors. This year, the workshops are all about the Forum’s latest landmark exhibition ‘Turner, the Sublime Legacy’! Children aged 5 to 12 can experience the world of J.M.W. Turner with the educational workshops, learning all about a variety of artistic themes closely associated with the English painter, getting their creative juices flowing and allowing them to express themselves with a range of art-based activities. Miquel Barceló, Oceanographer – Exhibition
Featuring a selection of around sixty works (paintings, ceramics, embroidery, works on paper), this exhibition is a chance to discover the prolific and eclectic creations of Miquel Barceló, a Spanish artist whose favourite subject was the sea. Ingeborg zu Schleswig-Holstein: And There Was Light – Exhibition
Moretti Fine Art in collaboration with Julian Solms propose a dialogue between Ingeborg zu Schleswig-Holstein’s incandescent, chromatically charged abstract compositions and the gold ground works of the masters Simone dei Crocifissi, Barnaba da Modena, and Arrigo di Niccolò. A part of the proceeds of this exhibition will be donated to AMADE worldwide association under the patronage of H.R.H. The Princess of Hanover. Until Friday, July 26 at Moretti Fine Art. Pasolini in Chiaroscuro – Exhibition
Pier Paolo Pasolini, perhaps the last European intellectual to have gained worldwide renown. He is considered one of the defining public intellectuals in 20th-century Italian history, influential both as an artist and a political figure. A half-century on from his death, his influence can still be felt across the different fields in which he worked: he is read, commented on, adapted, and inspires contemporary creative artists. While he preferred to describe himself as a writer, it was his films that brought him to the public’s attention. The exhibition looks at his inspirations and his legacy. Lascaux à Monaco – Exposition
Original objects from the Lascaux cave exhibited on loan from the National Museum of Prehistory (Les Eyzies, Dordogne) and the Institute of Human Paleontology (Paris) and also hyper-realistic reconstructions of 5 Cro-Magnons by Elisabeth Daynes, a 1/10 scale model of the Lascaux cave with prehistoric paintings and lighting, and interactive tables and low-tech manipulatives. An original scenography organized around facsimiles and an immersive experience in Virtual Reality thanks to the #SPL LASCAUX, exclusively thanks to the Museum Partners. The Prince and the Mediterranean – Exhibition
As part of commemorations marking the centenary of Prince Rainier III (1923-2023), the Oceanographic Museum presents its new permanent exhibition, “The Prince and the Mediterranean”. Visitors to the exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute’s tribute to the unshakeable connection between Princer Rainier III and the ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea in particular, will step aboard his ship, Deo Juvante II. Guided by the voice of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, they will navigate through four fascinating spaces, each exploring a different facet of the Prince and his passion for all things aquatic. The Cabinet of Curiosities – “The Early Days of Télé Monte-Carlo, 1954-1974” – An exhibition looking at the first 20 years of Monaco’s TV channel launched in 1954. A selection of archives and objects will take you back in time, to the very earliest days of colour television. Organised by the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco, the exhibition features items entrusted by Télé Monte-Carlo for safekeeping, documents from partner institutions, and materials kindly loaned by private individuals.
