Speakers from Generations X, Y and Z delighted listeners this weekend at the International School of Monaco with a wide array of topics and talks, including, but not limited to; robots in the workplace, techniques to control your dreams and the dangers deep fakes play in political elections.
ISM hosted its third TEDx Youth Event on Saturday, April 6, featuring 11 student speakers aged 10 to 17, and for the first time two adult speakers, a parent and a teacher from the school.
This year’s theme was ‘Reality Check’, covering the contemporary subjects of artificial intelligence in education and the workplace, cyberbullying, social media and much more. The talks were filmed and will be uploaded to the TED YouTube channel.
Musical entertainment provided by ISM’s Year 4 Choir and the band Exodity completed the conference.
“ISM’s mission is to provide an outstanding education for students so that they are happy, confident, independent, multilingual and responsible global citizens,” commented co-curator Alicia Sedgwick, adding that “there is no better way to accomplish this than to teach our young people public speaking skills that allow them to communicate effectively in every possible situation, whether with one person or an audience of a thousand.”
