AS Monaco managed to maintain their recent momentum with another away win, this time against Ligue 1’s Strasbourg at the Stade de la Meinau on Sunday, March 10.

The visiting Monegasques dominated throughout the match with much more possession, many more shots and over double the number of passes. However, the 400-odd Monaco supporters in the Alsatian stadium had to wait until the 73rd minute for the first and only red and white goal of the game.

Having both come on in a triple change minutes prior, Maghnes Akliouche found Eliesse Ben Seghir with a decisive pass to set up a completely academy goal.

Monaco were unable to find the back of the net again in this fixture, but the slim one goal lead was enough in the end, as the final whistle signalled a 0-1 victory to the visitors.

With this win, Monaco consolidate their third place position in the French championship, just one point behind Brest. The next match will see the Monegasques take on 16th place FC Lorient at the Stade Louis II on Sunday, March 17.
