Journey to Italy – The Art of the Cinema

The Audiovisual Institute of Monaco presents a 1953 drama film directed by Roberto Rossellini and starring Ingrid Bergman and George Sanders who play Katherine and Alex Joyce, a childless English married couple on a trip to Italy whose marriage is on the point of collapse until they are miraculously reconciled. Loosely based on the 1934 novel Duo by Colette, Journey to Italy is considered by many to be Rossellini’s masterpiece. On Tuesday, March 5 at 20:00 at the Théâtre des Variétés. Discover more here.

Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series (Act IV) & 40e Primo Cup

To close the winter season, the J/70s will meet for the last time in Act IV (7-10 March). The weekend will coincide with the 40th Primo Cup-Trophée UBS, which will bring together the Smeralda 888s and Longtze Premiers alongside the RS 21s and Cape 31s, not to mention the class synonymous with the event’s heyday, the Surprise. Launched in 1985 on the wishes of HSH Prince Albert II, President of the YCM, this regatta, with technical clothing supplied by Slam, has established itself as the biggest one-design meeting in the Mediterranean. Mediterranean Gardens – Symposium

Introducing the 12th Rencontres Internationales Monaco et la Méditerranée symposium, on the themes “Mediterranean Gardens – The Time of Plenty – The Time of Virtue – The Time of the Marvellous”, three themes were chosen, looking at key moments from the history of Mediterranean gardens, their material and spiritual dimensions, and their contribution to the development of new ideas. International Women’s Day

Pow’Her Day – Event

A day hosted by the Committee for Women’s Rights to mark Women’s Rights Day with a variety of events including conferences, talks, debates, workshops, concerts and shows. Local associations SheCanHeCan and Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises de Monaco with the support of the Committee for Women’s Rights of Monaco are hosting for the third time the Monaco’s ‘Speed Mentoring’ event for girls.

Over 30 female entrepreneurs from various professions, including trade, health, tourism, finance, logistics and digital marketing amongt others, will be present to speak with the girls, including high-ranking female public figures such as Laurence Garino, Chief of Staff of the Minister of State, Christine Pasquier-Ciulla, member of the National Council, and Benoite Rousseau de Sevelinges, Director of CHPG, will be present. It’s an opportunity for young students to also witness the ongoing work by other associations in the field of gender equality. The Entreparents Network will highlight “the rights to maternity and parenthood” at their stand throughout the day.

International Women’s Day with the TechyGirls

A special evening devoted to women and technology with the latest cutting edge creations of the TechyGirls and TechyBoys. The story of TechyGirls will be presented by the President, Estelle Favier, in the presence of Audrey Balesi, founder of Sunny Influence, a local start-up that helps businesses boost their visibility on social media, and Caroline Hervé, the CTO, Blockchain developer and founder of Alpha Web3. Her new project: Le Showroom du Cap, modelled in the metaverse will be presented too. After the presentations, there will be a designer fashion show featuring creations by Juliette Dubois, followed by a delicious cocktail buffet from Le Roi des Saveurs Italiennes! Distinguished by a naturalistic approach that’s enriched by strong work from an ensemble heavy with first-time actors, Under the Fig Trees explores a world of ideas in the span of a single day. This free-spirited, light-hearted look at the daily lives and loves of fruit pickers in the orchards of Tunisia has shades of Renoir and Kechiche. The Prince and the Mediterranean – Exhibition

As part of commemorations marking the centenary of Prince Rainier III (1923-2023), the Oceanographic Museum presents its new permanent exhibition, “The Prince and the Mediterranean”. Visitors to the exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute’s tribute to the unshakeable connection between Princer Rainier III and the ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea in particular, will step aboard his ship, Deo Juvante II. Guided by the voice of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, they will navigate through four fascinating spaces, each exploring a different facet of the Prince and his passion for all things aquatic. Pier Paolo Calzolari – Casa ideale – Exhibition

Pier Paolo Calzolari is known for the formal originality of a multidisciplinary art (painting, sculpture, but also performances understood in the sense of “acts of passion”), often using organic materials such as tobacco leaves, fire, or frost to create “installation pieces” that push the boundaries of contemporary art. This retrospective exhibition, entitled “Casa ideale”, is a rare opportunity to discover the world of an artist who has left his mark on the history of art through a mostly unconventional approach to the various artistic forms. The Princess and the Presidents – at the Princess Grace Irish Library

An illustrated talk on the relationship between the Prince’s Family and successive Irish presidents as seen through their correspondence. Based on her bestselling book The Presidents’ Letters: An Unexpected History of Ireland, journalist and author Flor MacCarthy, presents highlights which show the warm friendship between Ireland and Monaco which continues to this day.
