A 40 year-old Hungarian man fell to his death on Sunday, February 5, while taking on a week-long paragliding course in nearby Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
The cause of the fall is not yet known, although BFM Côte d’Azur speculates pilot error. The fall almost occurred outside of the neighbouring town, on its higher up Chemin des Vallières, alarmingly close to the busy A8 motorway.
The Roquebrune-Cap-Martin paragliding site is one of the most beautiful in Europe, attracting great numbers of thrill seekers which can often be seen in the sky from the Principality before remarkably landing on the often busy Plage du Golfe Bleu.
