After a largely uneventful January transfer window for AS Monaco, the Principality side’s supporters will be pleased to discover the contract extension of talented young Brazilian right wing-back Vanderson until 2028.

Vanderson joined Monaco in January, 2022 from top Brazilian side Grêmio, with whom he made 59 appearances. Since his arrival to the Côte d’Azur, Vanderson has already worn the diagonal jersey 76 times, and has proven himself to be a valuable member of the squad in the process.

22 year-old Vanderson is capable of playing up and down the right flank, and has already played 13 matches this season under Adi Hütter in the more offensive minded role of right wing-back.

The Brazilian hit the ground running this year, having scored and assisted in the Monegasques’ 4-2 win over Clermont in the first match of the season.

Consistently high performances have deservedly earned Vanderson a call-up to the formidable Brazil national team for the first time in the summer of 2023, a colossal achievement for any young player of the game.
