Eminent cardiologist Professor Vincent Dor, born in 1932 in Marseille, died on December 29 at the age of 91.

He was the founder of the Monaco Cardiothoracic Centre in 1987, alongside Doctor Jean Joseph Pastor. The Centre acquired an international reputation for excellence and innovation.

The specialised hospital on Avenue d’Ostende welcomed patients from all over the world, and had a specialised program for children from Africa whose urgent heart problems could not be solved in their native countries.

Professor Vincent Dor was named honorary founding president in 2020 by Prince Albert II.
