A wholehearted collaborative effort between the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and multiple Monegasque entities resulted in a Drowning Awareness Day at the Grimaldi Forum to remember for 344 young pupils of the Principality on Wednesday, November 22.

The Mairie de Monaco, the Monegasque Red Cross, the Maritime Police , the Monaco Fire Brigade and the Académie Monégasque de la Mer all joined in to raise awareness about the risk of drowning and how to prevent it.

HSH Princess Charlene was present as the children participated in short activity sessions led by the partners, which explained the equipment used in the event of an accident and first aid gestures that can save lives.

The children were also able to attend a reading session of the book La Magie de l’Eau by its author, Mélinda Guery, of which the Foundation is a partner.

At the end of an educational morning, each child received a copy of the book, as well as a swimming cap and a winter hat in the Foundation’s colours.
