After a relative cold spell from the end of October, temperatures have remained close to the seasonal average during the first weeks of November.

However, there was nothing normal about the temperatures along the Riviera and the north of Corsica on Tuesday.
The highest was recorded in Cannes, where the thermometer registered 27.7 degrees, easily surpassing the last high point of 25.8 Celsius in 2004.

Valbonne recorded 27.6 and Mandelieu 26.6 degrees on Tuesday.

Temperatures are not likely to stay anywhere near this high in coming days. In Monaco on Wednesday the forecast high is 19 and on Thursday 17.

Needless to say, these record-breaking temperatures in mid-November may serve to remind us that next summer could be early and last longer, with scorching temperatures from May to September.
