France’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced that 40 percent of scheduled flights at Paris Orly will be cancelled this coming Friday, October 13.
In addition to major disruption at France’s second-busiest airport, others will also suffer, including Marseille-Provence, with 20 percent of flights cancelled.
So far there are no indications that Nice Airport will be affected directly, but this could change.
Ominously, the union behind the stoppages – affiliated with the far-left CGT – has said that there will be no ‘truce’ for the Paris Olympics next summer, although the air traffic controllers’ main union, the SNCTA, has said it would observe a cessation of industrial action during the Games.
