The Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies has published its study on state housing and future needs by 2040. Similar studies were conducted in 2012 and 2017 at the request of the Government.

To carry out this analysis, IMSEE collected statistical data from the Administration of Estates, the Housing Department, the Town Planning Department aand Town Hall Services. Data from the population census carried out in 2016 were also used. IMSEE carried out a new projection of the population of Monegasque nationals according to the so-called “components” method which consists of projecting the population age by age and year by year, adding births, naturalisations by Sovereign Ordinance, and the acquisition of nationality by marriage, and by subtracting deaths.

Seventy-eight percent of Monegasques will be provided state housing by 2040, beyond the objective of 75 percent.
