Lauro family vehicle Scorpio Services Holding of Monaco, which has switched from dry bulk carriers to wind-power installation, now has a new interest, according to marine news portal tradewindsnews.com.

The company has bought a 10-percent plus stake in airline Norse Atlantic Airways, according to an announcement from the Oslo Stock Exchange. The low-cost transatlantic airline was founded as recently as 2021.

Recently Scorpio announced that its wind installation shipping company, which over the last couple of years has been in acquisition mode, would be merged with its larger and longer-established competition Cadeler, headquartered in Denmark.

The Scorpio Group is controlled by Emanuele Lauro, his family, and long-time shipping executive Robert Bugbee.

Norse Atlantic now operates a daily Paris to New York service and has 100 employees based in France.
