The Orange Alert for Monaco and the Alpes-Maritimes, declared by French weather service Météo-France at lunchtime on Sunday, continues into Monday with stronger storm activity and heavier downpours.
Wind gusts of more than 100 kph are expected on the coast, punctuated by periods of calm, according to both Météo-France and La Chaine Meteo.
The Orange Alert is likely to be lifted on Monday evening. Calm is expected to return by Tuesday morning, when the daytime temperature is likely to be in the region of 21 degrees.
