The 50th Anniversary of the German International Club of Monaco was celebrated on Monday July 17, in the splendid Salle Empire of the Hôtel de Paris, in the presence of Prince Albert ll, Honorary President of the Club, Princess Charlene, as well as Minster of State HE Pierre Dartout and his wife and the Ambassador of Germany in Paris and Monaco, HE Hans-Dieter Lucas.
Guests enjoyed a grand evening in all its senses, carefully prepared by Co-Presidents Beatrix Baroness von Dellingshausen and Patrick Wetzel.
The evening started with a cocktail on the terrace of the Hotel de Paris, followed by a superb SBM dinner, a burlesque show and the drawing of a “super raffle” with prizes worth over 80,000 euros. The Jubilee Gala brought together top representatives from the Monegasque government, ambassadors and honorary consuls, numerous personalities in the Principality and members and friends of the International German Club, representing more than 20 nations.
The event was sold out with over 250 guests.
HSH Prince Albert expressed his great happiness to be present to help celebrate the first 50 years of the German Club, which was inaugurated under his father, HSH Prince Rainier III. “Not only does the German International Club of Monaco mark the close relationship between our two countries, but because of its international membership it reflects the nature of our Principality,” the Sovereign said.
Culture, sustainable development and support for young people are part of the DNA of the Club and on this occasion 75,000 euros were donated to the Prince Albert ll Foundation for the safeguard of the seas, and 50,000 euros to the Principality’s Department of Equipment, Environment and Town Planning to plant new trees on Avenue Princesse Grace, opposite the Grimaldi Forum.
