Many outstanding watches will go under the auctioneer’s hammer this coming weekend at the Monaco Legend Group’s two-day sale at the Meridien Hotel.
But one lot in particular will be the centre of attention – a unique watch that was commissioned by Rolex CEO Parick Heiniger to mark the 10-millionth Rolex timepiece which stayed in the family for almost 30 years.
The Yacht-Master is engraved DIX MILLIONIEME CHRONOMETER and its auction price is estimated at between one and two million euros. It could possibly sell for an even higher sum.
Monaco Legend Group co-chairman Davide Parmegiani remarked: “Rolex spent the last 80 years marketing the importance of their movements and the fact that they are officially chronometer certified… So, we can truly understand how important it is that we have the 10 millionth officially-certified chronometer in a prototype watch.
“Moreover, the watch is made of the rarest of metals with an incredible unique dial and it comes with outstanding provenance directly from the family that marked the history of the Rolex company… This is a Rolex made by the chairmen of the company for their family and a unique piece that was never offered for sale. For me this is something really incredible!”
Viewing starts on Thursday, April 20 and continues until the first day of the sale on Saturday, April 22.
