Following several weeks in which Monaco’s coronavirus measurements recorded a very low incidence, the seven days to Sunday, March 19 indicated a marked increase.

Twenty-three new cases were reported over the week, based on 481 PCR and antigen tests, a positivity rate of 7.7 percent.

The benchmark incidence rate over the seven days jumped to 59 from 18 one week earlier.

On Sunday evening 12 patients were receiving treatment for coronavirus symptoms at Princess Grace Hospital, compared to just one on March 12. Among the 12, nine were Monaco residents.

The number of residents with mild symptoms recovering at home increased to 16 from six over the week.
