A pedestrian walking on the promenade of Port Hercule, Quai Albert-Ier, close to the Casino supermarket and the HQ of the Monaco police, was targeted by a mugger at about 19:00 on Monday evening.
The assailant fled on foot and managed to make an escape as far as into the undergrowth below the Prince’s Palace, where he was duly apprehended.
It is unknown whether he had been successful in his attempted theft as no information is available.
