From December 13 to 15, the Monaco Economic Board (MEB) supported around twenty of Monegasque companies in the French capital on an economic mission with a busy and varied program.
The highlight of the mission was on Wednesday morning during the economic forum organised in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Paris Ile-de-France region.
A partnership agreement was signed between the two chambers of commerce, respectively by Guillaume Rose, Executive Director General of the MEB, and Marie-Christine Oghly*, President of the International Committee of the CCI, in the presence of Valérie Bruell-Melchior, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Monaco in France representing Ambassador Christophe Steiner.
More than 60 individual meetings took place between Monegasque entrepreneurs and possible Parisian partners.
A visit was made to the famous Station F, nothing less than the largest startup campus in the world, created in 2017 by Xavier Niel (majority shareholder of the Monegasque operator Monaco Telecom). Located in a former rail freight hall of 34,000m2, Station F welcomes more than 1,000 startups and offers more than 30 support programs with the support of many prestigious investors.
During the mission the Monte-Carlo Opera gave a splendid version of Lakmé at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées with soprano Sabine Devieilhe accompanied by the Orchester Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and the choir of the Opera under the direction of Stefano Visconti.
Organised with the invaluable support of the French Embassy in Monaco, new avenues of collaboration between Monaco and Paris were explored, once again confirming the role of catalyst played by the MEB connections and synergies.
